I really wish I could minimalize a gradient in the outfield, but the second best idea is the massive scoreboard that towered in left field of Crosley Field, right on top of the hill - the largest scoreboard of it's day. In fact, if you head over to Blue Ash Sport Center in Cincinnati, you'll see a huge replica of this scoreboard in the ballpark.
