Back in 2014, (when we had these things called movie theatres), I designed a series of minimalist spaceships for an Entertainment Weekly story. Out of the ten I designed, by far the most popular of them all was the Minimalist Millennium Falcon from Star Wars.
Fast forward 6 years, I am proud and honored to announce that this piece is now officially licensed with LucasFilm Ltd, and is now available for sale!
Star Wars makes you feel like a kid again.
I was 5 years old when the original Star Wars came out and I saw it in a drive-in theatre back in Kingston, Ontario. I don't remember much, and I believe I fell asleep right when C-3P0 and R2-D2 crashed on Tattonine. I remember waking up for a quick second, and seeing Luke and Leia swing across a bridge, but that's about it. But, I can say I SAW it! Luckily, we humans grow older, and our memories advance past infant stage, so as each new movie came out, I became a bigger and bigger fan. I collected the original Kenner toys and any stick instantly became a lightsaber. My interest in Star Wars subdued through the years, but I think what always brings me back to this franchise is that there's something for everyone. It doesn't matter if you grew up with it like me, or you just started watching. You can be young, old or inbetween, and find something to enjoy.
This illustration brings back those great memories with my brother and our friends.
